SturgisFamIt is a pleasure to introduce Jason Sturgis, son of Tracy and Jonathan, sister of Jessica Brewer, as PFC Summer Intern for Children’s Ministries.

Summer Children’s Church Curriculum

Although he will still be helping his aunt and uncles with property management, Jason will be applying his gifts and talents by organizing Sunday morning Children’s Church at PFC.  The curriculum that has been selected is the book Journey with JesusJourneywithJesus

This Gospel Light curriculum believes the best way to reach kids for Jesus is by teaching about God and His Word through hands-on activities that engage a child’s intense curiosity, openness to learning new things and desire to love and be loved by Jesus.

Jason’s Priorities

Another  priority for Jason is to focus on inspiring and recruiting helpers and teachers to support the Children’s Ministry Program.  To that goal, Jason will be applying some of his creative skills by producing videos that will provide teacher training, and promote recruiting.

Jason says, “It is my desire and goal in life to glorify God with the talents and abilities that he has granted me and help others discover their strengths so they can go on to help others do that same.”

We are excited at how well Jason’s vision coincides with the church’s vision for Children’s Ministries.  He states:  I want the children of our church to learn about Jesus and the love he has for them. I would also like them to understand the meaning of prayer and how to pray. I want them to go away from Sunday school exited to tell their parents about what they learned. “

Memory Work and Challenges

Regarding memory verses, Jason says, “There will always be a memory verse but there will also be a weekly challenge, something the kids look for, research, find, and/or bring to class the next Sunday.”
